Hello, God has given me something in Psalm 119:23 which says,
“Though rulers sit together and slander me,
your servant will meditate on your decrees.”
The Psalmist is saying that even though rulers sat together and slandered him, he still meditated on God’s decrees. That is like Jesus. Jesus lived perfectly, and yet the pharisees whispered among each other about what Jesus had done “wrong”. They conspired to kill Jesus. Yet Jesus still “meditated on God’s word”, He lived a perfect life. Then He was put to death. He lived perfectly, and then died for us, and saved us from our sin!
Jesus was slandered, and mocked (even though He was perfect) and He died for us, saving us from sin! He loved us so much. He had been slandered in our place. He is perfect, and yet He was slandered about that He had sinned. He saved us, and loved us so much! Now, when we are slandered, because the world does not like Christians, we can remember this verse: 1 Corinthians 4:13
“when we are slandered, we answer kindly. We have become the scum of the earth, the garbage of the world—right up to this moment”.
We should answer kindly. Jesus was slandered, and mocked by everyone, and yet He still gave His life for us. He loved us so much that He died in our place! Then He rose again to prepare a place for us in Heaven. A place in heaven for us! We didn’t work for salvation, and yet we were given it. Jesus has saved us from our sin! Thank God!
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for saving us from our sin! Thank You, Jesus, for being slandered for us. Please help me to love You more. Please help me to rejoice when I am slandered or mocked for giving out the Gospel. Please help me to give thanks more. Thank You so much for loving me so much! Thank You for blessing us with all the wonderful blessings You have given us. Please help me to give the Gospel out to others more. Thank You for all that You have done for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Please continue to pray that we find a church that preaches the Gospel. Thank you!
Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
