Long Lasting

Hello, God has given me something in Psalm 119:52 which says:

“Long ago I learned from your statutes
that you established them to last forever.”

The Psalmist is saying that he knew that God established His statutes to last forever. He wanted everyone to be under law. God made them need to be perfect in order to live. But we can’t be, so what happens?

Jesus happens. Jesus came, and He died on the cross in our place! He loved us so much that He died on a cross with all of our sins on Him. He made the Great Exchange. The Psalmist said that God’s statutes were to last forever. They did, but now, we can stay in Jesus, and be perfect because He’s already kept them! He gave us His perfection, and His righteousness, in exchange for our sin, and rags. He saved us from sin! Praise God!

Jesus fulfilled the Law, and let us not have to obey it. He saved us from sin. Even though the law “was established to last forever” Jesus made it so that we don’t have to keep it! God has had great mercy and love on us. John 3:16 says:

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

God so loved us, that He sent His son! Doesn’t that just want to make you explode with happiness? He has actually saved us from our sin! Praise God for what He’s done for us, all that He’s done for us! Praise the Lord!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for loving me so much that You actually gave up Your own son for us. Thank You for Your great mercy and love. Please help me to show others that same love that You’ve lavished upon me. Please help me to love You more and more every day, Lord. Please help me to grow in You. Thank You for everything, dear Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
