Hi There, today God has given me something in Psalm 127:3 which says,
“Children are a heritage from the Lord,
offspring a reward from him.”
Children seem to be a big thing in the Bible, at least as an analogy. Here the Psalmist is saying that children are a blessing. Jesus said, “Let the little Children come to me”. Children is one of the three in children, young men, and fathers. But, children seem so unimportant in our world. The important people are those who have high positions, right? In God’s eyes, that’s wrong.
Children, to God, are very important. One child could be used more as a child, than as an adult. A child may be more used, than pharisee. They are important in God’s eyes: Luke 18:16-17:
“But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 17 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.””
But, children are really just a giant analogy. What analogy? Us, all as children. Children of God! But, if you think about it, only Jesus was the son of God… the perfect one without sin or blemish. So, how are we children of God? We don’t deserve to be children of God, but Jesus loved us so much, that He came down and died for us. Now, we are children God. God wants us to come to Him! John 1:12:
“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—”
We are the Children of God, So we are very important in His eyes. We are His children! God is Father to the Fatherless, Husband to the widow, Psalm 68:5 says:
“A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
is God in his holy dwelling.”
Whenever we are hurt, or in need, we can come running to God as a little child runs to His dad. We can call Him, “Abba, Father.” He is our daddy, our protector, our father.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for making me Your child. Thank You for being my daddy, and loving me as my Father. Thank You for giving Your son, so that I may be Your daughter. Please help me to spread the Gospel to others who are Fatherless, or are widowed, and need a Father. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
