Hello, God has given me something in Psalm 129:8 which says:
“May those who pass by not say to them,
“The blessing of the Lord be on you;
we bless you in the name of the Lord.””
The Psalmist is saying to the wicked that he doesn’t want people to bless them when they pass them. He knows that the wicked are, well, wicked. He knows that God hates sin, and he wants nothing to do with the wicked. He wanted no one to bless them.
This is quite the opposite of Jesus. Jesus didn’t curse us, and want no one to bless us, even though we were wicked and He is perfect. He asked God to forgive us! He was being crucified on the cross, and He asked God to forgive us! He wasn’t being like the Psalmist. He willingly gave His life so that we could live, and be blessed rather than cursed. He took the curse for us.
We are now so blessed. We have been given the biggest blessing: Jesus. Jesus died for us, and now He lives in us. He gave us the Holy Spirit. He has not asked that God curse us but rather bless us. He has loved us so much, that He died for us, and blessed us. Praise God!
We are not only blessed by that, but now we have a huge family of Believers looking out for us. When we stumble, we can always go to another true believer, and know that they won’t curse us, but pray for us. We are so blessed in Jesus.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for loving me so much that You gave Your very own son for me. Thank You for blessing me so much, Lord. Thank You for giving me a family of Believers that can pray for me. Please help me to love You more, and rejoice in You. Please help me to give thanks for all that You’ve done for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
