Calm Child

Hello, God has given me something in Psalm 131:2 which says:

“But I have calmed and quieted myself,
    I am like a weaned child with its mother;
    like a weaned child I am content.”

The Psalmist is saying that he calmed himself. He is also saying that he was like a weaned child, who was content with his mother, calm. He is calm is God, not worrying but being calmed in God as his Father. No matter what problems there were, he was just calm in God.

We can be too! We do not have to worry about all the times we have sinned, because Jesus has given His very own life for us and paid for our sin. Now, we can rest in God as our Father, and just be calm in Him. Sometimes when we are in a big mess, and we feel like we have a million things to do, we should just take the time and rest in God. He has our whole life planned out. Mathew 6:25:

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?”

We know that Jesus has given His life to save us. How much more will He keep us in Him, and provide what we need? I’m not saying that no one should get a job, or work, just because God will provide. We do need to work in this world, but we know that whether it’s a great job or not, God will provide. We can be calm in Jesus.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for providing for us, Lord. Thank You for letting us just be calm in You. Thank You for saving us, by giving us Your son. Please help me to always remember what You’ve done for us. Please help me to rejoice in You, and love You more. Please help me to spread the Gospel to others who need to be saved or comforted in You. Thank You for blessing me so much, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
