Hello, today the pastor preached on Luke 12:12-21
The sermon was mostly a teaching on Luke 12, however the pastor did get the Gospel in it! The passage we read was about the foolish rich man who decided to tear down his barn and build bigger barns to put his crops in. He wasn’t content without bigger and better barns to store his crops in!
The pastor warned against this kind of mental attitude, and He gave many examples of how to tell if you are falling into that trap. This trap is to want something so much that you feel you cannot be content without it, and that you absolutely must have it! Although it is okay to feel that you might be happier if you had something (because some situations are more profitable or more enjoyable than others), but when you feel that you cannot be happy without something, that is when you know you have a problem.
Then, near the end where we took communion, the pastor said wrapped up by saying that Jesus gave up His all to save us from our sins, and that communion was a symbol of what He gave up for us.
We should be happy because of what Jesus did for us. We shouldn’t need a lot of money or things to be content. All we need is Jesus.
