Hello, today God has given me something in Psalm 146:8 which says:
“the Lord gives sight to the blind,
the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down,
the Lord loves the righteous.”
David is continuing to praise God for all His goodness. He said that God helped those who were “bowed down”. He lifts them up. David would know this because He once was a lowly shepherd, but God lifted him up to be king.
We all are bowed down. We are all weighed down by our sin. We deserve to go as low as the grave for our sinfulness. Yet God not only lifted us up, He sent His only son to be weighed down for us. He sent Jesus to take the sin off of us, and to pay the punishment for it Himself. For God so loved this sinful world, that He gave His one and only beloved son, to die in its place with its sin.
As believers, we should now help others who are being weighed down by sin. We should give them Jesus, who will lift them up. In the meantime, we should also help other believers who are struggling. We shouldn’t push them down because they stumbled, we should help them back up.
Jesus gave us His high position in Heaven, and took our lowly position in hell. He paid the price for our sin, and gave us eternal life. Jesus exchanged His righteousness, for our sin. Praise God!
Peace and love, Joy Cleveland
