Hello! Today the sermon was on Luke 13:10-17 where Jesus heals a woman who has been crippled for 18 years. The pastor started by talking about the cripple woman: she was rejected. She was a woman, and women of that time were considered lower than men. She also had an ailment, so she was an outcast. She was crippled so she was in pain for 18 years. She was as low as they came, and yet Jesus helped her.
We are like that crippled woman. We were broken, and God could have looked down on us and said “I have given you patience and I have helped you many times, but you still sin”; He could have rejected us. But He didn’t; instead He offered His son to fix our broken spirit and to heal us. Jesus died for us so that we might be healed, and so that we wouldn’t be broken!
Of course, the pastor did elaborate more on the passage, but to me that was the most beautiful part!
